Murky on the mountain this morning
The mist sits squat as fog descends
High peaks drifting into dreamland
Memories of granite clefts extant
The resting raptors keen remiges
Flexing wing tips golden tan
Remembering sunshine
Talons readied fit to slash and tear
Rabbits meanwhile shifting restive
Sniffing riffled air the vixens prowl
Unseen yet persistent
As cow bells sonorous toll
